Mango Falooda recipe

Ingredients required:

  • 2 tbsp – Basil/Sabja Seeds
  • Two tbsp – Vermicelli/Falooda Sev
  • 2 tbsp – Mango puree
  • 1/4 Cup Cold Milk
  • Scoops of Mango Ice cream
  • Mango Cubes

So let’s start, how to prepare Mango falooda. At first, we’ll soak the basil seeds in water for 15-20 minutes. Along side, we’ll boil the falooda noodles.

After boiling the falooda noodles for 2 to 3 minutes, we’ll assemble the dessert. When the falooda noodles have boiled, place them in cold water, so they don’t get melt completely.

First, we’ll put one tbsp rose syrup, add 2 tbsp of basil seeds, 2 tbsp falooda noodles, 2 tbsp of mango puree, and 1/4th cup cold milk.

You might think that the glass is half-filled but don’t worry; we’ll be adding another layer. Now we’ll add mango ice cream.

Add some mango cubes and garnish it with some chopped cashews and raisins. So the delicious mango falooda is ready.

Strawberry Falooda recipe

Ingredients required:

  • 1 cup – Chilled milk
  • 1/4 th cup – Strawberry syrup
  • One small size – Chopped apple
  • One small size – Chopped banana
  • 1 tbsp – Chia/sabza/sweet basil seeds soaked in water overnight
  • 2 tbsp – Blanched vermicelli ( Falooda sevaiya)
  • 1/2 cup – raspberry jelly
  • Tutti Frutti
  • 3 – tbsp condensed milk
  • Vanilla ice cream or you may take any other of your choice)
  • Chopped dry fruits ( almonds, cashew nuts, pistachio)

This cooling ingredient is prepared in summer because the ingredients used to prepare it help cool the body. But it can be enjoyed throughout the year as the flavors are very aromatic, sweet & soothing.

Let’s check out the ingredients. So, moving on to the kitchen first, we will add strawberry syrup to the chilled milk. Please give it a mix. Then add chopped apples & banana to the condensed milk and mix it well.

Now the assembling part. First, we will put the soaked chia seeds into the serving glass. We have soaked it overnight. Now goes in some blanched vermicelli on top of that goes our homemade Jelly.

Throw in some tutti fruiti, add some fruit mixture, and add a layer of Jelly. Now add chilled strawberry milk and my favorite vanilla ice cream.

Drizzle some strawberry syrup and sprinkle some chopped dry fruits. So how about relaxing & treating yourself to this gorgeous falooda ice cream in the comfort of your home & feel special.

Thalassery Falooda recipe

Ingredients required:

For Jelly, we need:

  • Jelly Mix – 90 gm
  • Water – 500 ml

For Falooda, we need:

  • Falooda Mix – 50 gm
  • Milk – 250 ml
  • Water – 50 ml

For the topping, we need:

  • Oil – 1/2 Cup
  • Cashew (broken) – 2 tbsp
  • Raisins – 2 tbsp
  • Dried Cranberries – 2 tbsp
  • Dried Blueberries – 2 tbsp

Fruits needed:

  • Banana – 2
  • Apple – 1
  • Mango – 2
  • Chikoo – 4
  • Grapes – 1 Cup
  • Other:
  • Ice Cream – 500ml

This falooda seems to be available only in Thalassery, Kerala atleast, I’ve never eaten anywhere else, and it’s great for summers. So here, we will learn how to make my version of Thalassery Falooda.

We are going to start with the Jelly because it takes time to set. We will use a 90-gram box of strawberry flavored jelly crystals, which comes with 80 grams of the jelly mix, and 10 grams of jelly premix.

To make the Jelly, we will first boil 250ml of water, add both the jelly mix and the jelly premix into it, let it dissolve, and switch off the heat.

Now we are going to add another 250 ml of normal temperature water to this. Transfer it into a bowl and keep it outside for about 1/2 an hour to cool. Later refrigerate it for another 1/2 an hour to set the Jelly.

To make the falooda, we will take 50 grams of falooda mix. It is usually available in any general store in India.

We will heat 250 ml of milk and 50ml of water for a few minutes, add the falooda mix, and boil till it becomes thick and creamy.

So once it reaches this thickness, you can switch off the heat. Let this cool to room temperature, transfer it into a bowl, and refrigerate it for a minimum of 1 hour.

Now we will fry a few dry fruits and nuts, for topping, in about 1/2 a cup of oil. We will first fry 2 tablespoons of broken cashews until they are light golden brown and two tablespoons of raisins until they bloat.

Similarly, we will fry some cranberries and blueberries. Let’s chop a few fruits now. We will peel and dice all the fruits except for the grapes.

Now we will assemble it in a long glass. We will take 650ml glass. First, pour three tablespoons of falooda mix into the glass.

Then add two tablespoons of Jelly, top this off with one scoop of ice cream, two tablespoons of each fruit. We will repeat another layer of Jelly, another three scoops of vanilla ice cream, and top this with the fried nuts.

Any other size glass can be used, but it cannot be smaller than 300ml. This dish is enjoyed best if you gently mix all the layers. It may be a little difficult but really rewarding. So please leave a comment on how you liked it.
